When choosing a theme for your WordPress website, make sure you choose wisely, as it is one of the main factors that will determine your website speed. There is not much argument that a bespoke theme is the best choice, but building a theme and website from scratch is a costly journey that can set you back tens of thousands of dollars.
Depending on your skill level and the budget you can dedicate to developing your website, you will have to choose from ready-made solutions.
For example, due to lack of time for developing a bespoke theme, even for my own website, this website is built with Elementor Pro website builder on top of its base Hello Elementor theme. No matter the page builder, this website is optimized to load in about half a second across all devices and has a mobile Google PageSpeed score of 100%.
If you want a fast solution, besides the ones listed below, you can start with the default WordPress theme Twenty-Twenty-One and its native Gutenberg editor. It is definitely one of the fastest options, but you will need to know at least the CSS to customize the look.
